U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — It wasn’t a good night of basketball for the “Jaelen House is hurting the Lobos” contingent of the UNM fan base.
With their volatile senior point guard on the bench in street clothes due to a hamstring injury suffered late in Tuesday’s home loss to Nevada, the Lobos played poor defense, had little focus, low energy and frankly no chance in an embarrassing 89-77 loss to the Air Force Falcons in front of an announced Clune Arena crowd of 1,899.
“Not having him is far from an excuse for the way that we played tonight,” said UNM senior forward Josiah Allick.
