Win streak ends at four as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms clip the Binghamton Devils 2-1

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (35-15-3-4) with the best offense in the league, skated away with a slim 2-1 victory over the Binghamton Devils (17-28-6-3) that ended their modest four game winning streak on Saturday at The Floyd. Goalie Ken Appleby made his fifth consecutive start and took the loss with his 22 save effort.

The game was a defensive performance by both clubs that featured some strong goaltender skills with Appleby and John Muse for the Phantoms, as the deciding goal came within the first two minutes in the third period by LV forward Chris Connor when he redirected a short pass from Tyrell Goulbourne past Appleby’s stick and into the back of the cage.
