The Devils dropped their fourth straight game in regulation with a 3-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Thursday at the Prudential Center in Newark. Their recent slide put them in fourth place in the Metropolitan Division race entering the All-Star break, with all of the cushion built up from their hot start to the season gone.
While the injuries mounted up during the week leading into Thursday's game, the Devils couldn't make excuses after their second straight 3-0 shutout loss at home.

The Devils were without Taylor Hall, Marcus Johansson, Cory Schneider, Keith Kinkaid and Brian Gibbons on Thursday, with all five out with various injuries.
