Like all collegiate players who spend all four seasons at school, Brett Seney had a choice.
Following the end of his senior season at Merrimack College, he could have signed with the Devils -- the team that drafted him -- or waited until August, when he could have been an unrestricted free agent, eligible to sign with any team.
Seney made his choice rather quickly, signing with the Devils on March 16.
"In a situation like that, you've got to play the cards, but it didn't take me long to agree to my contract with New Jersey," he said.
