The Las Vegas Golden Knights will select the majority of their roster during the NHL Expansion Draft, when the rest of the NHL's 30 teams will lose one player to the newly founded franchise. The rest of the NHL set their lists of protected and exposed players, giving Las Vegas 72 hours to determine which players it wanted to take, plus make deals with other teams if they wanted to guard any other players.
The NHL will reveal the roster for the newly-founded 31st franchise during the NHL Awards Show on Wednesday, June 21, in Las Vegas.
