NEWARK -- Several Devils prospects received extended looks in the NHL during March, and the team needs an NHL mentality to carry over into the summer.
Devils coach John Hynes said the time between Sunday's season finale and September's training camp will be crucial if the team wants to make any strides next season.
"When you look at some of the guys we have, they have to understand, they have to have NHL summers," Hynes said. "What do you mean by that? It's not a five-month break. We're team where we have to have guys come back physically strong, they pay attention to their diet, they train in the same place all summer.
