NEWARK -- The Devils didn't get a formal practice with Brian Boyle before he was diagnosed with Chornic Myeloid Leukemia at the start of training camp, but his new teammates are already behind him.
After Boyle publicly revealed his diagnosis on Tuesday, it sent shockwaves around hockey, and Boyle was overwhelmed with support. Within the Devils' locker room, they are naturally all behind him.
"He's handled it the right way," Devils coach John Hynes said. "He's going to do everything that's asked of him medically and I think his attitude is excellent.
