The Devils returned to practice Friday following Thursday's 2-0 preseason loss to the New York Islanders.
With the camp roster still featuring 49 players, the Devils divided into two groups again, with the first group featuring players who did not skate on Thursday night.
That included goalie Cory Schneider, who put in a significant workload while he continues to rehab from offseason hip surgery. He made some tough saves while staying on the ice for the duration of the practice.
However, forward Nico Hischier did get the best of him during a late drill.
