Since Cory Schneider is practicing while on injured reserve, the Devils constantly have three goalies on the ice.
The extra body means consistent down time for one goalie, and there are some situations where the Devils don't need two of them.
That means Schneider, Keith Kinkaid and Eddie Lack occasionally need something to pass the time. So Schneider and Lack played catch on Friday.
Standing at opposite side walls at center ice, the two flipped pucks back and forth, catching them with their glove. Or, more often than not, they tried fruitlessly to knock the puck out of the air with their sticks as it went sailing over their heads.
