There was some uncertainty around when Cory Schneider would first practice with the Devils in training camp. Turns out he was ready for the first day.
Schneider skated with the first of three groups on Saturday in Newark, joining fellow goalies Eddie Lack and Colton Phinney during practice. Lack played in one net for the duration of the session while Schneider split time with Phinney on the other end of the ice.
Schneider didn't stay for the scrimmage between Groups A and B, but his participation in some capacity was an encouraging sign.
