The Devils continue to stockpile assets as they look to their future. Shortly before the puck dropped in Columbus, the team announced they will send C Vernon Fiddler to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2017 draft pick.

The 36-year old had 1 goal, 2 assists, and was a minus-11 in 39 games for the Devils. He spent his time with New Jersey centering the 4th line as well as on the penalty kill.
