The Quietest Free Agent Frenzy Yet for Ray Shero & New Jersey Devils

Unless something significant happens tonight, the New Jersey Devils made all of three signings on the first day of unrestricted free agency. All of them are short-term deals that were likely made for Binghamton: defenseman Eric Gryba (post), defenseman John Ramage (post), and forward Kurtis Gabriel (post). General manager of the Devils, Ray Shero, went into today with ample amounts of cap space and roster spots. They still have it as those three deals combined are worth $2 million.

Last year, I was disappointed by the lack of action by the Devils.
