The New Jersey Devils have issued a press release announcing they will celebrate Pride Night on February 27th against the Montreal Canadiens. The game will kick off NHL’s Pride Week and represents the league’s effort for inclusivity and continue the Hockey is For Everyone movement.

The NHL has launched an initiative to raise awareness for the LGBTQ community and Pride Week demonstrates the league’s commitment to supporting, raising awareness and hopefully gathering funds to bring awareness to issues that the LGBTQ community is facing. A few weeks ago the NHL named a Pride Ambassador for each team, Andy Greene being the Devils’ representative.
