Sources: OF Joc Pederson, Texas Rangers agree on contract

Outfielder Joc Pederson and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a contract pending a physical, sources tell ESPN.

News of the deal was first reported by The Athletic.

Last a designated hitter with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pederson, 32, declined his mutual option for the 2025 season.

He hit .275 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs in 2024, his first season with the Diamondbacks after signing a one-year, $9.5 million dollar contract last offseason. The option for 2025 would have paid $14 million.

Pederson has 209 career home runs, playing for the Dodgers, Cubs, Braves, Giants and Diamondbacks.
