Scott Wedgewood posted his first NHL shutout and Kyle Palmieri scored a pair of goals as the Devils ended the Pittsburgh Penguins' six-game winning streak with a 3-0 victory Thursday night at Consol Energy Center.
Wedgewood, who made 39 saves, has won both of his NHL starts. He defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets, 2-1, Sunday and has stopped 66 of 67 shots he's faced in two games.
He is the first Devils rookie goalie to record a shutout since Scott Clemmensen on Jan. 20, 2004, in a 25-save win at Pittsburgh.
Kyle Palmieri scored his 28th and 29th goals for the Devils.
