DETROIT — It was a big game by a rookie the Devils feel has the capability of becoming a big-time player.
Sergey Kalinin was awarded the Devils' hard hat for player of the game after Tuesday night's 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
He earned the hard hat with an all-around performance:
1. He broke up a scoring chance by intercepting a first period pass intended for Tomas Tatar, who was heading to net. Had Kalinin not been there, the Devils might have fallen behind again.
