Special teams giveth and special teams taketh away.
After a power-play dud cost them a point in Boston, the Rangers wrapped up a Thanksgiving weekend back-to-back with a special teams masterpiece, scoring once on the man-advantage and twice shorthanded to take a 4-0 victory against the Devils in Newark on Saturday afternoon.
The chants from the sold-out crowd came for the head of Devils coach John Hynes, and after a performance like this, when the New Jersey power play went 0-for-8 and the team got shutout at home, it was understandable.
