I don't think a lot of devils fans knew what they were getting early on. Draft day comes and Lou's trading a first round pick to get a goalie, and we've got Marty (Brodeur). Marty's going to play as long as he could, but to have Cory be in that role a couple years to prepare himself, it's been a seamless transition. Certainly no one is going to replace Marty in the records and what he stands for and what he's accomplished. But having a goalie as good as Cory is, he can steal games for you. As long as he stays injury free, it's going to be a great situation.
