Special assignment coach Jacques Lemaire became the latest to leave the Devils late last week when he accepted the same position with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Lemaire joined former Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello on the Maple Leafs' staff after spending the past six seasons with the Devils as a head coach (2009-10, 2010-11) and special assignment coach.
Most recently, the 69-year-old Lemaire had done scouting for the Devils and was a vital consultant and sounding board for Lamoriello. His departure is viewed by some in the organization as a significant loss, but is it the Devils' biggest loss in this offseason?
