NEWARK – Ridgewood's Matt Morris was happy to have defenseman Steven Santini in front of him during Wednesday's 3-on-3 at day two of Devils Development Camp.
"A defenseman like Steve, you want him in front of you," Morris told NJ Advance Media. "It was great."
The 23-year-old undrafted goaltender played in net for team Brodeur during the 3-on-3 tournament. He led his team to three victories in the round-robin style tournament until being defeated by team Stevens in a sudden death shootout in the championship round.
Forward Michael McLeod drilled the puck past Morris to propel team Stevens over team Brodeur, 3-2.
