The Toronto Maple Leafs could have interest in a couple Detroit Red Wings, including Riley Sheahan and Brendan Smith, according to Sportsnet. Sheahan has no goals in 58 games, but the former first-round pick reportedly won't come cheap. Smith is also a target for the Maple Leafs and other teams, but the Red Wings may aim to re-sign the 28-year-old defenseman.
Carolina Hurricanes have been shopping several of their defensemen, including 24-year-old Justin Faulk. Faulk turns 25 in March, but he would be a big addition to a team looking to add an offensive-minded defenseman.
