As the NHL gets closer to the end of the first month of the regular season, rumors have begun to percolate about teams that have gotten off to unexpectedly bad starts. It is traditional that clubs do not make moves until after U.S. Thanksgiving (when they have reached the quarter mark of the schedule), but the desperation to stay within a reasonable distance of a playoff spot may force some GM’s to be preemptive.
