NHL free agency is just days away, with unrestricted free agents around the league will be allowed to sign contracts with new teams on July 1, and rumors are building around the league.
The free-agency interview period between teams and players opened on Sunday. New York Islanders center John Tavares — the top free agent available — will wrap up his meetings with teams on Wednesday with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning after talking to the Islanders, Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks and Boston Bruins.
There has also been interest around the league in Devils forward Patrick Maroon, Bruins forward Rick Nash, Blues goalie Carter Hutton and more.
