The Minnesota Wild are in a very odd position in today’s NHL. After going all in the 2012 offseason, they literally have nothing to show for it. They’ve moved past the years where Zach Parise and Ryan Suter are playing up to their contracts, and it looks like their ceiling is a playoff non-contender.
When a team is sitting in this position, changes must be made. The worst spot to be in as a franchise is to continuously get close to a playoff spot and missing, or losing in the first round year in and year out.
