The trade seems like a bit of a head scratcher as perhaps the Devils would have been better off just getting a draft pick for Quincey, but GM Ray Shero figured it best to grab Dalton who’s five years younger than Quincey.
In 53 games for the Devils this year Quincey posted four goals, eight assists, and a plus-3 rating, which is slightly around his career averages. It just became a matter of the Devils have John Moore and Andy Greene fully back from their injuries and with the addition of Steve Santini on the back-end, Quincey became expendable.
