Today, New Jersey Devils agreed to a contract with defenseman Kyle Quincey on a one-year, one-way $1,250,000 contract. In 2015-16, Quincey played in 47 games with the Detroit Red Wings, tallying four goals and seven assists for 11 points. Here is my quick take on the signing.
- Looking at the corps of blueliners entering training camp, defensive depth was a real concern. Signing a strong veteran presence from a well coached club like the Red Wings is an excellent move. Quincey may not have an exceptionally high ceiling at the age of 31, but, right out of the gate.
