New Jersey Devils Sign Jacob Josefson, Luke Gazdic

The New Jersey Devils took care of a bit of housekeeping Tuesday when it was announced that former first round pick Jacob Josefson had re-signed with the team on a one-year deal that will pay him $1.1 million. The team also brought in former Edmonton Oiler Luke Gazdic on a one-year deal. Gazdic’s contract will be a two-way deal carrying an NHL salary of $700,000.

The 25 year old Josefson, who was selected 20th overall by the Devils in the 2009 draft, has struggled to stay on the ice in his time with the big club, playing in only 238 games spread out over six seasons, or an average of 40 per season.
