New Jersey Devils: Ryane Clowe Named an Assistant Coach

New Jersey Devils forward Ryane Clowe has been named as an assistant coach for the team after concussions cut his NHL career short.

Serious question: Why is there an “e” on the end of Ryane in Clowe’s name? Never seen that before. Interesting.

Anyways, after calling it quits from hockey last September, Clowe will now be in an assistant coaching role with the Devils under head coach John Hynes. Clowe signed a 5-year, $24.25 million contract with New Jersey in July 2013 when Lou Lamoriello. For those of you keeping track, that’s almost the same exact deal that Kyle Palmieri just signed with the team last week.
