In what has been a really good offseason for the New Jersey Devils, there is some terrible news right before training camp is about to begin. According to reports, Pavel Zacha is leaving the organization and the National Hockey League for the Kontinental Hockey League. He is signing with Avangard of the KHL.
This is some really bad news for the New Jersey Devils. They are really deep at the forward position but this depletes the depth a little bit. Pavel Zacha was the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. He didn’t ever reach his ceiling as a scorer but he was still growing into an extremely important depth forward for the Devils.
