New Jersey Devils Opt To Not Use Any Buyouts

The NHL’s buyout window which allows teams to buyout a player’s contract for two-thirds of the contract value spread out over twice the remaining years. Much to the happiness of myself and other New Jersey Devils fans, GM Ray Shero opted not to use any buyouts this off-season. Some of the players fans had called for Shero to buyout were Dainius Zubrus, Ryane Clowe and Tuomo Ruutu.

The window to buyout a player ran from two days after the end of the Stanley Cup Finals and ended on June 30th at 5pm.
