Nico Hischier was incredible for the New Jersey Devils in his rookie season. The teenager played on the top line for a majority of the season with Taylor Hall and either Kyle Palmieri or Jesper Bratt. He scored 20 goals, and hit 52 points on the season. Preseason, I was hoping he could get to 15 and 35, so he blew my expectations out of the water.
Now, it sounds even more impressive. The Devils released on Thursday that Hischier will not be going to the World Championship in Denmark because he hurt his wrist in the beginning of the season, and now finally has time to heel his injury.
