When he was drafted, the prediction for Hischier was a spot on the third line out of training camp, and some tempered expectations. After phenominal rookie seasons by the last two number-one overall picks (Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid), none of that production was expected from Hischier.
Despite his predecessors success, Hischier is still outplaying expectations.
