Louis Domingue finished his first start filling in for Mackenzie Blackwood with a win vs. the Detroit Red Wings. New Jersey Devils head coach John Hynes seemed to be very comfortable after what he saw the night before when Louis came in relief. In his first appearance as a Devil, he seemed very calm, cool and collected like most Quebec native goalies. To move over to the game against Detroit, Domingue only faced 20 shots and allowed only one goal.
One of the things that stood out was his positioning. Louis showed whether Detroit had traffic in the slot, along the crease, on the points, he was able to sniff out any possible deceptive plays to stop offensive bursts.
