The New Jersey Devils did not waste another game following last night’s brutal performance in a 7-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. At approximately 4:15 PM the team announced that they have fired head coach John Hynes, effective immediately. Assistant coach Alain Nasreddine, will assume head coaching duties on an interim basis.
Nasreddine will debut as head coach tonight when New Jersey hosts the Vegas Golden Knights at 7:00 PM. This will be his first career game as a head coach in the NHL and it will be interesting to see how the team responds to the change.
