As the clock struck 3 p.m. ET, it appeared that the New Jersey Devils were going to stand pat, but at 2:59 p.m. ET, it trickled in that the Devs had indeed made a move for another forward. They added Patrick Maroon from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third-round pick.

As reported by John Shannon of Sportsnet, the Devils acquired Maroon for a 2019 third-round pick and a prospect that hasn’t been named yet.
