New Jersey Devils fans were so happy to see Penn State product Aarne Talvitie crush it during the World Junior Tournament last week. He led Team Finland as their captain to the gold medal, after beating Team USA in the final. It was the kind of performance that most prospects build off of, and it could have even led him to signing a professional deal in the offseason like Joey Anderson did last year. That is, until the news we learned on Wednesday.
I’m hearing the Finnish report that Aarne Talvitie (Penn State, NJD) will need season-ending surgery on his knee is unfortunately likely, but he’s still there and we won’t hear official word until he returns to US later this week.
