The New Jersey Devils slow start has come at the worst possible time. We all thought that this was the last year we had to see a bad team at the Prudential Center every game after Ray Shero went out and added Jack Hughes, Nikita Gusev, Wayne Simmonds and P.K. Subban in the offseason. Adding those pieces to parts of the team that desperately needed upgrading made us think this was the year to start competing.
On top of all those moves, we were getting back former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall.
