There are so many issues happening with the New Jersey Devils right now. Cory Schneider is back to being completely wrong in net. The system and the new players don’t seem to be meshing. The teams completely falls off a cliff every single third period. Taylor Hall‘s impending free agency is all anyone can talk about (admittedly, including us). Yet, the Devils can’t do much to change that. One thing they can change is the bottom-pairing defense, which is in tatters right now.
Going into the preseason, we thought the Devils were going to have a bottom pairing of Andy Greene and Ty Smith.
