Forward Tyler Kennedy joined the New Jersey Devils on a professional tryout contract on Wednesday.
The Devils said Kennedy is with the team in Calgary and will practice. He attended training camp with the Devils on a PTO but was released after playing in three preseason games.
Kennedy, 29, split last season between the San Jose Shark and New York Islanders and had six goals and 14 points in 38 games. In 477 games, he has 86 goals, 199 points and 225 penalty minutes.
New Jersey visits the Edmonton Oilers on Friday and Vancouver Canucks on Sunday to conclude its three-game Western Canadian road trip.
