DALLAS -- Following a frustrating performance for the Devils, coach John Hynes summed up their 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars simply.
"We gave it away," Hynes said.
Mistakes and turnovers burned the Devils on Thursday at the American Airlines Center, with two bad turnovers leading directly to goals, plus back-to-back penalties by Sami Vatanen leading to another one in the second period.
Vatanen was emerging from the penalty box after a cross checking minor when he reached out and poked a puck in the neutral zone.
