Monday's deadline trade to the Devils brought Patrick Maroon home to a big part of his family.
Maroon's mother, Patricia, was from Rutherford, and she met her husband, Phillip, in New Jersey before the two moved to his native St. Louis.
Patrick Maroon was born and raised in St. Louis, but he spent time in his childhood visiting New Jersey, where parts of his mother's family still live now.
The forward even has some Devils memories, including attending the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals and the Devils' victory parade.
Now Maroon will be spending at least the next six weeks in the place he called his second home.
