NEWARK — John Moore grew up in Winnetka, Ill., only 16 miles north of downtown Chicago, so it is always a special game for the Devils' defenseman when he gets to face the Blackhawks.
"When I was younger I was a big fan," Moore told NJ Advance Media. "It was a completely different time back then. They weren't televising home games. But I was as big a Chris Chelios fan as you could get, especially when I was younger, with him being a Chicago guy and captain of the Blackhawks."
Between 1966 and 2007 Bill Wirtz was president of the Blackhawks and refused to televise home games because he felt it wouldn't be fair to season-ticket holders.
