All signs pointed to Cory Schneider missing the start of the 2018-19 season. Now it's official.
The Devils goalie won't dress in the team's season opener against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Gothenburg, Sweden, Devils coach John Hynes told reporters following a team practice on Sunday in Bern, Switzerland.

Schneider underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left hip at the start of May, and the procedure carried a five-month recovery period.
