Somerville's former head football coach is suing the Board of Education and multiple school officials for wrongful termination, according to a report.
Christopher Casamento and his wife, Patricia, filed a lawsuit in May 2017 against the Somerville Board of Education, former superintendent Timothy Purnell, principal Gerard Foley, athletic director Kyle Franey and current football coach Jeffrey Vanderbeek.
During his time at Somerville, Casamento served as the head football coach, weight room supervisor and special education teacher. He was hired at Somerville in February 2014 until his termination in June 2016.
Casamento's claims that the defendants "engaged in a conspiracy" and subjected him to "an intolerable, abusive, and hostile work environment," according to a MyCentralJersey report.
