OTTAWA, Ontario — Former Ranger Lee Stempniak tied it with 32 seconds left in regulation and added the shootout winner in the Devils’ 5-4 victory over the Senators on Thursday night.
Travis Zajac, Jordin Tootoo and Adam Henrique also scored, and Cory Schneider made 35 saves to help the Devils improve to 3-3-1.
Chris Neil, playing his 900th NHL game, and Mike Hoffman, Zack Smith and Mika Zibanejad scored for Ottawa. Andrew Hammond made 28 saves in his season debut. The Senators are 3-2-2.
Henrique pulled the Devils within a goal with 5:50 to go, scoring off a rebound.
