Former New Jersey Devils Star Brian Gionta Retires

Brian Gionta was selected in the third round of the 1998 NHL Draft (82nd overall). This was a pick that played out very well for the New Jersey. Gionta won the Stanley Cup with the Devils in 2003. He would then go on to become a very good goal scorer in his career. He broke the Devils record for goals in the 2005-06 season when he put the puck in the net 48 times.

He played his 16 seasons with the Devils, the Montreal Canadiens, the Buffalo Sabres and capped it off with a 2nd half of the season run with the Boston Bruins.
