Former Devils goaltending coach Chris Terreri was named goaltending development coach by the New York Islanders on Wednesday.
Terreri will also serve as goaltending coach for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL while coaching goalies throughout the Islanders' organization.
The Devils replaced Terreri as the goaltending coach in July when they hired Roland Melanson to take the position. Terreri spent the past 16 seasons as a member of the Devils' coaching staff.
At the time of Terreri's replacement, the Devils said they were exploring ways to keep Terreri within the organization in a different role.
