Former Devils general manager and president Lou Lamoriello will join the New York Islanders' front office to run the team's hockey operations, according to a report from The Athletic.
Lamoriello will replace current Islanders general manager Garth Snow, who served as New York's president and general manager since 2006. The report said Lamoriello could assume either role, if not both.
According to the report, Lamoriello also met with center John Tavares recently. Tavares, who has played nine seasons with the Islanders since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2009, can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
