NEWARK -- Drew Stafford made sure his second shot counted.

Moments after he had a goal called off due to a whistle, Drew Stafford scored the game-winning goal at 5:36 in the third period, firing home a shot off a Jesper Bratt assist, to help the Devils earn a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Saturday at the Prudential Center.

Pavel Zacha started the rush for Stafford's goal when he smoothly transitioned from deep in the Devils' defensive zone to the neutral zone. He hit Bratt cruising up the left wing, where he entered the zone before dropping a pass for a trailing Stafford.
