NEWARK, N.J. -- Lee Stempniak scored late in the second period to snap a tie and the New Jersey Devils ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the short-handed New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
Kyle Palmieri, Sergey Kalinin, Adam Larsson and Tyler Kennedy also scored, and rookie Joseph Blandisi assisted on the tying and go-ahead goals in the second period. Cory Schneider made 17 saves as New Jersey beat the Rangers for the third time in four games this season.
